Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology is situated in the ground floor of Hospital Block with six faculties posted in the department. It caters about 3,000 – 3,000 patients with nearly 200-250 as in-patients in a year. The department offers medical care in variety of diseases which includes diseases affecting skin and mucosae, systemic disease with skin manifestations, cosmetology procedures, vitiligo, pigmentation disorders etc., It also treats patients with HIV&AIDS. It not only treats the patients but also involve counselling to a greater extent before starting the procedures for treating the disease. The department also involves teaching and training the medical students in their optional choice during final year and CRRI rotation postings. It trains the students in the best way possible by encouraging them in participating various educational conferences, seminars and workshops to update their knowledge and skill in dermatology. It has an OPD, emergency admission room, and IP rooms exclusively for dermatology. Sexually transmitted diseases are treated separately by experts in the departments. The department has excelled in treating the following diseases like psoriasis, eczema,vitiligo,dermatitis,keloids, warts, and moles.
