The department of computer applications was established in the year 2006. It is affiliated to Anna University and Approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The department stands on its four pillars – the management, the staff, their values and discipline that pave way for a strong foundation, promoting innovative ideas and oneness in hard work. Four batches of students have meritoriously passed out from the department. Qualitative education imparted by the faculty members enable the students to excel in both academic as well as extra-curricular activities. Presently there are 12 faculty members in the department specialized in various areas of computer science such as Networking, Database Languages, Other Programming Languages like java, VB, .NET etc. Apart from excelling in academic sphere, the faculty members are also actively pursuing research activities. Faculties of the department are presenting research articles in various national and international conferences apart from publishing original research articles in national and international journals of high impact factor.


To provide quality education with special emphasis on computer applications.


To impart knowledge, skills, technical training and innovative ideas for pursuing graduates with discipline, dedication and distinction. To engage in research and consultancy work for the mutual benefit of the institute and industry.

Programme Outcomes (PO):
  • Engineering knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematical, algorithmic, and computing principles.
  • Problem analysis: Analyze and interpret data, make inferences from the resulting data and apply technical skills to solve real time problems.
  • Design/development of solutions: Design a system or module, to meet desired needs, which undergoes various phases of software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Investigate, design and conduct experiments, by applying critical thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Modern tool usage: Make effective use of modern tools and techniques to develop a Software system
  • The engineer and society: Inculcate Professional and Ethical attitude
  • Environment and sustainability: Understand the need for, and have an ability to inculcate quality, timeliness and continuous improvement.
  • Ethics: Graduates will be able to recognize the social, professional, cultural and ethical issues involved in the use of computer technology and give them due consideration in developing software systems
  • Individual and team work: Develop teamwork, and leadership skills necessary to function productively and professionally to undertake a common goal.
  • Communication: Graduates will be able to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Project management and finance: Graduates will be able to master fundamental project management skills, concepts and techniques, set attainable objectives and ensure positive results, meeting scope, time and budget constraints.
