At Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology, the core of the college’s social concern is preparing students for the service of others. In addition to being concerned, compassionate, and conscience-driven, students are supposed to have empathy for the underprivileged. NSS program aims to inculcate social welfare in students and to provide service to the society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is in needy get help to enhance their standard of living and lead a dignified life. In doing so, the volunteers learn from people in the community, how to lead life despite scarcity of resources. NSS also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims.

Eventually it will facilitate networking and linkages of the community with NGOs, institutions, and government agencies for the effective service delivery and advocacy support. It also hopes to link up with the corporate sector within the parameters of Corporate Social Responsibilities ( CSR)
