About Code4Change 2026
Code4Change 2026 is a 24-hour national-level hackathon hosted by KVCET in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), bringing together creative minds, developers, and innovators to build software solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This hackathon challenges participants to design impactful digital solutions that promote sustainability, equity, and innovation across domains such as clean energy, health, education, smart cities, and environmental conservation. Over an intense 24-hour coding marathon, teams will ideate, prototype, and present their innovations to industry and academic experts.
The goal of Code4Change 2026 is to inspire students to leverage technology as a catalyst for positive transformation — coding not just for innovation, but for impact.
Objectives of Code4Change 2026
Promote Innovation for Social Good
Inspire participants to develop technology solutions that address real-world challenges and create positive social impact.
Encourage Entrepreneurship and Start-up Thinking
Cultivate entrepreneurial mindset and help participants transform ideas into viable business solutions.
Foster Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Bring together diverse talents and perspectives to create comprehensive solutions through teamwork.
Build Awareness on Sustainability & Global Goals
Educate and engage participants with UN Sustainable Development Goals and their critical importance.
Develop Real-World Problem Solving Skills
Provide hands-on experience in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex real-world problems.
Create a Platform for Industry-Academia Interaction
Bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through expert mentorship.
Rules & Regulations
Team Formation
- Teams must consist of 2 to 3 members
- All team members must be registered participants
- Cross-institutional teams are allowed
- Team composition cannot be changed after registration closes
Project Development
- All code must be written during the 24-hour hackathon period
- Pre-existing code libraries and frameworks are allowed
- Projects must align with at least one UN Sustainable Development Goal
- Solutions must be original and developed by the team
- Use of AI tools is permitted for assistance, but core logic must be original
Submission Requirements
- Working prototype or MVP must be demonstrated
- Source code must be submitted via GitHub or similar platform
- Project documentation including README file is mandatory
- Presentation deck (PPT/PDF) explaining the solution
- Video demonstration (optional but recommended)
- All submissions must be made before the deadline
Judging Criteria
- Innovation and Creativity (25%)
- Technical Implementation (25%)
- Cross-institutional Impact and Relevance to SDGs (25%)teams are allowed
- Presentation and Demo Quality (15%)
- Feasibility and Scalability (10%)
Event Conduct
- Participants must be present for the entire duration
- Teams must check-in at designated times
- Mentorship sessions are available throughout the event
- Breaks and meals will be provided at scheduled times
- Participants must maintain professional conduct
- Organizers decisions are final
General Rules
- All participants must bring valid college ID and government-issued photo ID
- Internet connectivity will be provided by the organizers
- Teams must respect intellectual property rights
- Photography and videography may be conducted for promotional purposes
- Registration fees are non-refundable
- Participants are responsible for their own laptops and equipment
- Plagiarism or code theft will lead to immediate disqualification
- Any form of harassment or misconduct will not be tolerated
- Participants must follow all safety and security protocols
- Organizers reserve the right to modify rules if necessary

Welcome address and event overview by organizing committee
Keynote Address

Problem Statement Reveal
Official announcement of themes and challenge areas aligned with SDGs
Team Formation & Ideation Begins
Final team formation and start of brainstorming phase
Ideation & Planning Phase
Teams finalize their ideas and create project roadmaps
Lunch Break
Refreshments and networking opportunity
Development Phase Begins
Teams start coding and building their prototypes
Tea Break & Networking

Continuous Development
Intensive coding session with mentor support available
