Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology offers an all-round career solution to the students. The Placement and Training Cell guides the students to decide and pursue their dream careers in different sectors, be it engineering, IT, analytics, consulting, research and development, operations, etc. The whole placement process is organized and executed by the Placement and Training Cell. The campus interviews are held under the supervision and jurisdiction of this cell, and relevant feedback is obtained from the industry. The Placement and Training Cell works hard to arrange a full-semester industrial internship, which is stipulated under the academic curriculum. The Cell has kept a close liaison with many companies in the country. 
The Placement and Training Cell also arranges career talks for dissemination of knowledge regarding the employment opportunities in the industry related to the relevant fields and interests of the students. The Placement Cell keeps a record of the students who undergo internships and the companies that come for recruitment. In addition, finishing school/soft skills development Workshops are also organized to improve the communication skills of students. The center encourages visits to the industries by the institute students and arranges industrial problems to be worked out by students as part of their projects. It also takes suggestions from members of the industry regarding the designing/changing of curriculum.

 

OBJECTIVES:

-> To develop students’ soft & technical skills.

-> To motivate students to nurture high career goals.

-> To provide support and guidance on examinations like GATE, CAT, GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, UPSC, AMCAT, etc.

-> To bring more corporate hirers to campus to achieve 100% placement and higher median salary.

-> To prepare students for on-campus and off-campus placement drives.

-> To wet students’ minds about wide career opportunities and skill sets expected from hirers

-> To organize the campus interviews.

-> To provide guidance to students in career planning, resume preparation, how to prepare for an interview, body language, and how to improve their communication skills.

Training and Placements
Placement training plays a significant role in shaping the career goals of students. Every engineering student aspires to secure a position in a reputed organization that visits the campus for recruitment. With this key objective in mind, it is well understood that training is essential for engineering students to strengthen their employability skills and obtain good placements in various industries. In the current scenario, competition for employment is rising rapidly, making placements more challenging. Therefore, training students and equipping them with life skills has become a vital responsibility of educational institutions. Along with technical knowledge, the development of a well-rounded personality is equally important. To fulfill these requirements, our college operates a fully functional Training Cell that works to enhance the abilities of engineering graduates in line with industry standards.

Objectives
The main objectives of the Training Cell are:

Training Activities
The Training Cell carries out the following activities:
Creating awareness among students about career planning and career mapping. Equipping students with essential life skills. Providing training in personality development. Organizing various training programmes in Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning through reputed external trainers and in-house experts. Conducting mock interviews to help students perform well in professional interviews as demanded by the corporate sector. Training students in group discussion techniques. Conducting online tests and written aptitude tests.

The centre focuses on offering personalized counseling, skill-building programs, and guidance for academic and professional progression.

Coaching and preparatory sessions for various national and international competitive examinations—such as GATE, UPSC, TNPSC, Banking recruitment tests, GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS—are facilitated under the supervision of Dr.A.Manimaran, Placement Coordinator, along with designated faculty coordinators from each department.

Objectives

The centre aims to:

Establish strong alumni interactions in collaboration with the KVCET Alumni Association to enable access to internship opportunities, referral networks, and career-related insights that support students in shaping their future plans.

Offer mentorship from both in-house experts and external professionals for learners inclined toward research and advanced academic pursuits.
